Sapphic Slow-burn romances

Celebrity romance novels (Lesbian Book Bingo #6)

The 90th Academy Awards ceremony took place earlier this month, so I thought this would be a good time to post the recommended reading list for the celebrity romance square of the Lesbian Book Bingo.

If you need to brush up on the book bingo rules, check out the rules post.

I think what makes celebrity romances so appealing to many readers is that we get to see the glamour, but also the downside of fame. Whether the famous person is an actress, an athlete, or a singer, love in the limelight has its challenges. Often, seeing two very different worlds—those of a star and a normal person—collide can be part of the fun.

15 GREAT LESBIAN CELEBRITY ROMANCE NOVELS

I’ve put together a list of 15 celebrity romance novels with lesbian, bi, pan, or other women-loving female main characters. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

  1. Have just filled this square with a re read Of Casting Lacey – fab book and v funny😀. Can also recommend And playing the role of herself – that’s been a re read book several times over.

  2. I read True Colors for my card but am reading Backstage Pass at the moment and am really enjoying it. 5boxes to go for me but they are not my favourite genres and some of them I’m in limbo about finding a book.

  3. Waiting in The Wings is great, other great selections for this Square are A Royal Romance by Jenny Frame and The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmmer

  4. I think it’s time for me to read Survived by her Longtime Companion as it’s been on my list for a while.

  5. I’ll probably read “playing the spy” by Maggie Brown or I’ll wait the release of “the Princess Deception” by Nell Stark or “Sparks Like Ours” by Melissa Brayden. Not sure yet :) I still have others squares to fill too. I just finished “kellen’s moment” by robin alexander for the “romantic comedy” square. Thank you Jae for this brilliant idea, I discovered quite a few new authors with this game :)

  6. The Gravety Between Us was the first book I read in this category. Then I read. And playing the role of herself. That book was amazing. Just when I thought It couldn’t get better I read Perfect Rythem truely appreciate how this book was wrote. I was very touched.

  7. My new favorite pastime, has been trying to fill my bingo card. Looking forward to someday winning a paperback, signed

  8. I read Casting Lacey for this square, but have read most of the recommendations in the past. The ones I haven’t I will certainly check out, since this is one of my favorite categories.

  9. Crikey, you know you read a lot of lesfic when there is only one on the list you haven’t already read! So my choice is easy… Leaving LA it is! (am also about to start binge reading all of your Hollywood series, darn it! Will never get any work done at this rate!

  10. SO many choices, so little time. I will likely read What Lies Within since it’s already on my to-read list. And I think I already own Leaving L.A.
Stepping Stone is also recommended. I’ve read almost every one of Karin’s books. She never disappoints.

  11. Having great fun filling my bingo card. This should be a good category, although it doesn’t help me complete a row 🤔❣️

  12. i went with your Just Physical. also on your Celeb romance bingo list you labeled Eyes Like Those as Waiting in the Wings both By Melissa Brayden

  13. I love it when these lists come out. I get to revist the books I’ve already read and I get introduced to new titles to add to my “to read” list.

  14. Just re-read Damage Control. One of my favorite books. The whole “Hollywood” series is great! Finished my first BINGO!!

  15. I read Charming the Vicar by Jenny Frame for this square and just finished Captain of Industry by Karin Kallmaker which would qualify as well. Both good reads too.

  16. Funny I looked at all the titles and realized I read few of those in the past…..Nell Stark has it for me on this square though 😊👍

  17. I read “Magic of the Heart” by C.J. Hart for this one – really fun read! I’ll have to keep some of these titles in mind next time I’m looking for a book to pick up, though. One of my favorite categories.

  18. I read Casting Lacey and All That Lies Within. I’m sure I’ll end up reading Damage Control too. Seems like I’m reading at least one Jae book a week. :)

  19. “And Playing the Role of Herself” by KE Lane is my favorite from the ones I’ve read on this list…and the genre as a whole. If you read it, get the audio version. Also loved “Waiting in the Wings” by Melissa Brayden and “The Princess Affair” by Nell Stark. For my BINGO card, I read “Reality Lesbian” by Q Kelly, and I thought that one was fantastic as well!

  20. Gerri Hill’s newest novel, The Locket, just came out and one of the characters is a celebrity. It is a great mystery/suspense, with the celebrity twist.

  21. I’m reading Casting Lacey for this category, but JA Armstrong’s series Off Screen is a great choice, too!

  22. I would add Heart on Fire by Diana Simmonds to the list. After a country singer is outed, her tour bus breaks down at a truck stop in the Australian Outback where she meets an unimpressed local who works at her family’s restaurant.

I think I will read Waiting in the Wings for this category.

  23. I don’t think I have enough hours in a day and days in a year to ever finish my To Read list! At least not in the way this bingo is going!! I keep adding more and more books! But I love it! In the past I’ve already read a lot on this list and loved them! But i’m not gonna re-read! So for this list I just finished Kristen Conrad’s This is Devin Jones, but maybe I will shift it to another spot because there are so many suggestions here I still want to read from this list! I’m gonna start with The locket by Gerri Hill (thanks for the suggestion) and I’ve never read the hollywood series, so that’s following up! I also have my eye on All the love songs by Nicole Pyland, Lost in the starlight by Kiki Archer and Casting Lacy! But the new series of Melissa brayden sounds great as well!!! So many choices! I have 4 bingo cards already and still I feel the need to add more.. DAMN IT!

    1. Having 4 bingo cards going…that’s the way to go! My to-be-read list is a mile long too, but that’s a great problem to have, right?

      1. Yeah, 4 cards is a lot, but I have trouble sleeping and an addiction to reading (especially lesfic) so that makes a long to-be-read list is a great problem to have! Thanks again for the bingo!

  24. A Damage Control Re-read is coming. Awesome. I love those characters, and maybe I’ll Waiting in the Wings will be read too.

  25. I’m interested in a few, but mostly damage control, all that lies within and backstage pass, so, there’s my starting point :)

  26. Amazing list again! I have all but 4 of these including the 2 offered for this squares drawing. Most of them are on both my re-read and favorite author lists. I could add many others but will list only Karin Kallmaker’s Unforgettable. For this square I read Lynn Ames What Lies Within.

  27. All That Lies Within! Too many great books have clogged my brain to get titles or anything else right apparently.

  28. This is a great list. I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve read so far and look forward to reading the rest. One of my fav books is missing from this list though… Course of Action by Gun Brooke. It’s one of my fav celeb re-reads.

  29. I’ve just finished Damage Control by Bobbi Marolt which, I thoroughly enjoyed. This is my second go at completing Lesbian Bingo and I’m just going to keep reading and reading and completing as many Bingo sheets as I can. Loving it!

  30. I’m really enjoying this game. I came across it 4 days ago and have already completed secretaries on my card. I’ve read several of these books listed this year-Casting Lacey. I’m going to re-read Love’s Autograph and start the J.A. Armstrong series Off Screen. I think one of the best parts about this game is being able to read everyone’s comment about books they’ve read, will read, and favorites. It’s making my reading list even longer, which I appreciate because I read at least a book a day.

  31. I loved Waiting in the Wings when I read it not too long ago. And Playing the Role of Herself is one I’ve read MANY times (most before it was published, but made sure to buy the book).

Not sure which of these I will read for the BINGO, but I think Coffee Sonata by Gun Brooke would fit (Vivan Harding, famous opera singer); would also fit under age difference.

  32. And Playing the Role of Herself has got a lot of positive comments on this feed so far; I think I’ll have to read that one!

  33. Departure from the Script, I recommend this book, especially if you need to escape from real life for a few hours. The characters (both, actress and photographer) are extremely likable. This is very cute book, but it ended far too soon. Caution, after reading the book you will cook pancakes!

  34. I feel as if I can’t live my life to the fullest without having read “And Playing The Role of Herself,” lol. I’ve only heard good things about And Playing The Role of Herself, so gotta jump on board the fan bandwagon for this one. So, yeah, I’m reading that one for this square.

I’ll also will read “The Gravity of Us” (I’m a huge fan of dual perspective/first person novels and this book seems as if it will be one of the few New Adult books that is not problematic) and “Lost in the Starlight” (love, love, love the book’s cover and I’ve heard only good things about this book.)

  35. Oooh I read The Princess Affair already but I’ve always wanted to read And Playing The Role of herself – it’s a classic!
