Interview with fellow writer Dillon Watson

Today’s guest on my blog is Dillon Watson, whose novels Keile’s Chance and Back to Blue I enjoyed very much. Her newest romance novel, Full Circle, has just been published, so I took the opportunity to find out more about it. Let’s start with some warm-up questions: Chocolate or cookies? Chocolate cookies with chocolate chips.   E-books or paperbacks? E-books. They’re easier to read on the bus and in meetings, and you can’t beat them for traveling. However I buy paper copies of the ones I know I’m going to want to reread.   Star Wars or Star Trek? I …

Interview with fellow writer Georgia Beers

Last year, I started interviewing full-time writers of lesbian fiction. The list would hardly be complete without today’s guest. Georgia Beers lives in Rochester with her wife—the awesome-sounding Bonnie—, their niece, two dogs, and a cat. She’s the author of almost a dozen novels and short stories, including Starting from Scratch, 96 Hours (which I really enjoyed), and Snow Globe, her newest release. Despite being a self-confessed introvert, she was the keynote speaker at last year’s GCLS conference and filmed a hilarious video about “A Day in the Life of a Romance Writer.” If you haven’t watched it yet, go …

Interview with fellow author Kiki Archer

Today’s guest is another writer from the UK. Kiki Archer is a former teacher and now a stay-at-home mom (or mum, as the British say) and an almost-full-time writer. Her debut novel, But She is My Student won the UK’s SoSoGay Best Book Award in 2012, and her third novel, Binding Devotion, was a finalist in this year’s Rainbow Awards. Her newest book is One Foot Onto the Ice. So let’s see what Kiki has to say about her writing life. How long have you been writing full-time? For about two months. My children have just turned five and six …

Questions for a reader Q&A

I’ll do an interview on the Ylva Publishing blog next month, but this time, we’d like to do it differently. Instead of being interviewed by one interviewer, I’ll answer questions from readers. So here is your chance to ask me any question you always wanted to ask :-) You can either e-mail me (jae_s1978 AT or leave a comment with your question(s) here in the blog. I’m curious to see what you’ll come up with! So fire away! Jae

Cocktail Hour on Saturday

This Saturday, I’ll have an Amaretto Apple Juice with Andy and The Rev from the Cocktail Hour and chat with them about writing, publishing, and whatever else comes to mind. There’ll be a giveaway for several signed copies of my books, and my publisher also provided mugs for the giveaway. If you have any questions or comments for me or the Cocktail Hour crew, you can call in (before noon CDT on Saturday, please!) and record a message at 747-224-7763. Until Saturday, then! Jae

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I’ve been tagged by fellow author Q. Kelly for the 22nd week of The Next Big Thing Blog Hop. The idea is to hop from blog to blog to discover exciting books we might not have heard about or that are still works in progress. Each author will answer the same ten questions, then list authors who will answer the questions on their blogs next Wednesday. So let’s get started… What is the working title of your book? My book’s title is Something in the Wine. Since the novel has already been published, it’s not a working title. By the …
