Fake relationship romances (Lesbian Book Bingo #7)

Since April Fools’ Day was just a couple of days ago, let’s start off April with a very popular trope: pretend relationship romance novels!   I think what most readers love about “fake girlfriend” or “fake fiancée/wife” stories is that the plot throws together two characters who usually are total strangers and who might not even like each other. Under normal circumstances, they would never consider dating each other, but now they are forced to spend time together and pretend to be a couple. As you can imagine, they get into some hilarious situations, and after a while, they discover …

Writing hours in April

April is over already, and once again, it was a busy month for me. I spent most of last week at an editing seminar, which is part of my endeavor to earn a certificate in editing. We wrapped up editing Lois Cloarec Hart’s Walking the Labyrinth in April. I look forward to seeing this wonderful novel published in June. I had a new novel out in April (the second, expanded edition of Backwards to Oregon), one new anthology (Beyond the Trail), and a short story (Seduction for Beginners, a short sequel to Something in the Wine). I also did a …

Two new short stories

My two new short stories, each around 10,000 words, have just been published in Connected Hearts, a small collection of lesbian romance stories. One of the stories, Seduction for Beginners, is a mini sequel to my novel Something in the Wine and gives you a glance of how the relationship between Annie and Drew continues. Here are the blurbs: The Morning After by Jae After a friend sets her up on a blind date from hell, Amanda has enough of dating. A spur-of-the-moment decision to attend an Anti-Valentine’s Day party leads to an unexpected encounter. She wakes up to a …

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I’ve been tagged by fellow author Q. Kelly for the 22nd week of The Next Big Thing Blog Hop. The idea is to hop from blog to blog to discover exciting books we might not have heard about or that are still works in progress. Each author will answer the same ten questions, then list authors who will answer the questions on their blogs next Wednesday. So let’s get started… What is the working title of your book? My book’s title is Something in the Wine. Since the novel has already been published, it’s not a working title. By the …

And since Something in the Wine is the first novel I publish with Ylva Publishing, it’s even more special. You can order the print version at Amazon.com. It will soon also be available through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Barnes & Noble, Amazon.co.uk, Adlibris, The Book Depository, the Espresso Book Machine, and many other retailers.

Writing hours in August

Wow. August went by quickly. I worked on my latest novel, Something in the Wine, with the copy editor this month, so now we’re one step closer to publication. The cover will be created next. In fact, we’re already working on that. I’ve been beta reading a lot this month and my day job was pretty stressful too this month, so I didn’t have much time for writing. I’m hoping that will change in September. So here are some numbers: Writing Beta reading January 47 hours 5 hours February 31 hours 2 hours March 36 hours 3 hours April 12 …
