WLW & lesbian medical romance novels (F/F Fiction Crossword Challenge #7)

For this week’s puzzle, I picked WLW & lesbian medical romance novels, one of the most popular subgenres. Apparently, there’s something really sexy about scrubs and stethoscopes! Maybe it’s the high-pressure setting of ERs or the hurt/comfort aspect of some of these romances. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy today’s puzzle.   You can still send in the solutions for previous puzzles! You can still solve the previously posted puzzles. For each puzzle, I’m drawing the winners of the giveaway exactly one month after I posted the puzzle, but even if you send in the solution after that …

Doctors & veterinarians (Lesbian Book Bingo #3)

I know many of you have been waiting none too patiently for this list. Medical romance novels have been popular not just since Callie & Arizona from Grey’s Anatomy. Maybe it’s their great bedside manner or their white coats that makes women in medical professions such a hit with readers. To make this square of the Lesbian Book Bingo even more interesting, I’ve added a handful of veterinarians to the mix. If you need to brush up on the rules of Lesbian Book Bingo, check out the rules post.   15 GREAT LESBIAN MEDICAL ROMANCE NOVELS I’ve put together a …

My new lesbian romance “Falling Hard” is out!

Today’s the day—my new novel Falling Hard is now available from pretty much all major online bookstores. One of the main characters is Dr. Jordan Williams. Those of you who have read Heart Trouble might remember her as Hope’s best friend. She’s a surgeon with just two goals in life: saving patients in the OR and pleasuring her latest conquest in the bedroom. Her new neighbor, single mother Emma, couldn’t be more different. After her recent divorce, she plans to focus just on her five-year-old daughter. Neither of them counts on falling hard for each other. If a slow-burn romance …

Opposites attract in my new lesbian romance “Heart Trouble”

Personally, I love romance novels that pair two women who couldn’t be more different from each other if they tried. It’s not just that opposites attract; it’s also that they somehow complete each other and can learn from each other and bring out the best in each other. My latest lesbian romance novel, Heart Trouble, certainly falls into that category. On the surface, the two main characters are very different from each other: Hope Finlay is a doctor in a busy ER in Los Angeles. She grew up in foster care and learned not to bond too closely to people. …

Monthly update – August 2016

Summer is slowly coming to an end, so I’m trying to enjoy the last gorgeous weeks here in southwestern Germany while I eagerly await the publication of my next novel and first medical romance, Heart Trouble. It’s a book with an unusual plot, so I can’t wait to find out how readers will react to it. I have already translated the book into German and have sent it off to the editor today. The German title is “Herzklopfen und Granatäpfel,” which roughly translates to “Heart palpitations and pomegranates.” I also finished revising my two nonfiction books for writers in August. Point …

Monthly update (June & July 2016)

I realized that I was so busy in June that I didn’t post my monthly update. There’s been a lot going on these past two months. In June, I spent a week on Lesbos for a “book holiday”—writing workshops, readings, book discussions with readers, beach, and great Greek food. By the way, Lesvos Lesfic will be an annual event, so if that sounds tempting, check it out! In July, I spent two weeks in the US or, to be more exact, in the Alexandria/Washington, D.C., area for some sightseeing and attending the GCLS conference. It’s always great to spend a …

The Slow-Burn Approach to Lesbian Romance

As a loyal follower of my blog, you know that I sometimes interview fellow authors of lesbian fiction. Today, in a variation of that, I’m hosting another author who guest blogs and tells us a little about her book and her approach to writing lesbian romances.  If you are at times finding reading material by looking at the bestseller lists at Amazon, you might already be familiar with her–it’s KD Williamson, whose Cops and Docs romance Blurred Lines is the current #1 on that list.  So, welcome to my blog, KD. Take it away!  There is nothing wrong with hard …
