Sapphic Slow-burn romances
For this week’s Sapphic Book Bingo category, I would like you to read a book by a new author to give some attention to writers who are just starting out.
For the sake of this reading challenge, I’m defining “newbie authors” as a writer who has published only one or two novel-length books.
I put together a list of 100+ new authors of sapphic books for you, and I’m constantly adding to it as I find new authors, so keep checking back.
It’s time for another special category of the Sapphic Reading Challenge. For this one, I’d like you to read a novel by an author who’s completely new to you. You might have come across their name several times or seen their books recommended, but it has to be an author from whom you’ve never read anything before.
Here are some tips on where to discover a new-to-you author!
For this week’s Sapphic Reading Challenge category, read a book in which at least one of the main characters is of a different race, ethnicity, or culture than you.
Please pick a book that is own voices, meaning the author shares the character’s racial, ethnic, or cultural background.
This week’s Sapphic Reading Challenge post is all about characters who come out later in life. For the purpuse of this reading challenge, let’s define “later in life” as a character who’s in her 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Pick a book in which the protagonist comes out as LGBTQIA, either because it took them longer to figure out they aren’t straight or because they were struggling to come out to friends and family.
This week’s Sapphic Reading Challenge features romance novels in which the characters never intended to become involved in a long-term relationship with each other. The romance starts with a one-night stand, a fling, or a friends-with-benefits arrangement.
This week’s F/F Fiction Crossword Puzzle covers WLW & lesbian contemporary romance novels, which means modern romances that more or less take place during the time frame the book was written and published.
Other definitions include romances that are set within the past 25 years.
