Welcome to day two of Sapphic Romance Week!
If you missed yesterday’s ice queen romances post, you can still enter that giveaway too!
Today, we are highlighting fake relationship romances, also called “fauxmance.” It’s a popular trope in which the characters initially only pretend to be in a romantic relationship.
The reasons behind their fake dating scheme vary—from trying to get their hands on an inheritance to appeasing matchmaking family members or friends.
What I personally enjoy most about fake relationship romances are two things: Firstly, the moments when it starts to dawn on them that the feelings they’ve been pretending to have may not be so fake after all. Secondly, the humorous situations the two pretend lovers get themselves into as they try to convince others they are in a relationship.
What about you?

When Parker, billionaire founder of a luxury lingerie label, enlists the help of PR specialist Julia, she isn’t prepared for the way Parker makes her weak at the knees.
And she definitely isn’t prepared when Parker announces to the world that Julia is her girlfriend. Soon, Julia is swept into a fake romance with a woman who seems determined to tempt her into bed. But is it really just pretend?
Teaser:
“You always know the right thing to say, don’t you? So charming. You’re trouble.”
“And that’s exactly why you fell in love with me.”
“Is it? And here I thought it was because underneath it all, you’re as sweet as can be.”
A professor needs a celebrity for her local Pride parade. An actress needs a girlfriend to survive a month of filming in her hometown. It should be a match made in heaven, except the two women dated in college, and haven’t spoken since. Can this fake relationship lead to a second chance at love?
Teaser:
Little tricks or not, falling back in love with Sophia Rossi was going to be impossible for Gina to avoid. For one simple reason. Gina had never stopped loving her in the first place.
When Claire, an overachieving psychologist with OCD tendencies, hires Lana, an impulsive, out-of-work actress for a fake relationship, she figures the worst she’ll have to endure are the messes Lana leaves around. It’s only for a few months anyway. And it’s not as if she’ll enjoy all those fake kisses and loving looks. Right?
Teaser:
As soon as Vanessa disappeared around the corner, Lana slumped against the palm tree Claire had pressed her against. Her senses were still reeling. Where the hell had that come from?
She hadn’t thought of Claire as a passionate person, but if this was how she kissed when it was fake, Lana had a feeling she wouldn’t survive a real kiss.
Desperate situations call for desperate lies in this charming, fake-relationship lesbian romance.
Andi has no time for kids and certainly not when she runs a decorating business. But then her friend, Sarah, winds up in a custody battle and somehow Andi agrees to pretend she’s her live-in partner.
But as long as Sarah and Noa, the cutest seven-year-old, don’t win over her heart, she’ll be fine. Easy!
Teaser:
What could she say to ease such a raw confession? Two people, both able to love so hard, both unable to give their hearts.
After she’s left at the altar, Basil Jones is determined to enjoy her honeymoon — despite the resort’s strict couples-only policy.

Her Fake Dragon Mate is a fated mates paranormal romance featuring a rich dragon shifter and her mate.
It includes a standalone f/f fake relationship romance and a dash of steamy goodness. It is part of the Crescent Lake Shifters series.

The way the dragon was looking at her made Claire feel like the only woman in the world and it drew a flush of heat to her cheeks. The affection in Taylor’s smile and eyes seemed so real, Claire felt it in her bones and she had to remind herself that this whole thing was fake.

All Erica’s spare time is spent on her eight-year-old girl. A deal to be wined and dined if she fakes a romance sounds fun. It’d help if her date actually liked kids…and wasn’t so attractive!
Teaser:
“I’ll make you some coffee for the road, yes?”
“That would be awesome and I would love you forever if you did.”
Their gazes locked as Abby’s words sunk in.
“I’d like that,” Erica whispered, heart pounding.

All Ruby wanted was to close the distance. It didn’t matter why they were doing this. She just wanted Coral’s lips against hers like she’d never wanted anything.
A fake date … a real secret
An invitation to her ex’s wedding is the icing on a crappy cake for burlesque dancer Yolande. She just needs a date.
Shy bartender Reiko has a secret, or two.
When the drama of the wedding reveals a spark of attraction between them, Reiko will have to risk her fake identity for the hope of real love.
Teaser:
“What about Royale D’Arcy? I’ve always thought that would make a fun burlesque name,” Steph said.
Jack’s eyes sparkled. “Fanny Peters.”
“Ambrosia Mist.” Charlie’s voice boomed through the sound system. She stood on stage with Ben, the IT specialist, setting up for the evening.
“Juicy Cummings.” Ace’s suggestion had everyone groaning or calling out Eww.
Yolande shook her head. “You guys are terrible. Pinky Boom Boom was pretty bad, but it’s better than Juicy Cummings.”
