At the beginning of the new year, I’d like to take a moment to look back at 2025, share some of the highlights with you, and give you a glimpse of what’s on the horizon from me in 2026.
My 2025 at a glance
- Number of new novels released in 2025: 2
- Number of new short stories: 2
- Number of German translations: 2
- Number of French translations: 1
- Number of new German audiobooks: 4
- Number of online events organized: 4
- Number of awards won: 4
Books released in 2025

In 2025, I published two new paranormal romances in my Shape-Shifter Series: Enemies by Nature and Shifting Nature, which form a duology about a fake relationship between an aloof fox-shifter and the human daughter of their biggest enemy.
I’m pleased to say both novels have been well-received by readers and still maintain a 5-star average on Amazon.
The two short stories I released in 2025 are also part of the same series. Nature of Trust is available via all online bookstores, while I’m offering A Shape-Shifter’s Guide to Romancing a Human as a free ebook to readers.
Books released in other languages in 2025
In 2025, I didn’t release a new novel in German. I translate my own books, and a good translation takes time, so we had to push the release of Second Nature into 2026.
I did publish a new German short story, Ein Zelt für zwei, as well as a short story collection, Ein Happy End kommt selten allein 2.
Plus I had a total of 4 new audiobooks in German published in 2025, which is no small feat since German audiobooks are even more expensive to produce than English audio versions. A big thank-you to my publisher, Ylva, and our audiobook publishers for making it possible!
Last but not least, Reines de Coeur made Le Bonheur au bout des doigts, a French version of Just a Touch Away, available to my French-speaking readers.
Awards won in 2025
I’m honored to say that Bachelorette Number Twelve won four awards in 2025 (and was a finalist for two more), bringing the total number of awards for Ellie & Regina’s story to six.
Events in 2025
I had planned to again attend the book fair in Frankfurt in October, but got sick with COVID for the first time, so I missed it.
However, I organized four big online events for readers of sapphic fiction in 2025: The Sapphic Book Bingo, the Pride Month Calendar, a speculative fiction event, and the immensely popular Sapphic Book Advent Calendar, which had nearly 105,000 visitors in December!
My favorite books of 2025
2025 was a year of re-reads for me as a reader. That’s what I tend to do during tough times: I revisit old favorites that I know will make me forget everything going on in the world right now.
But I also read plenty of newly published books plus older books that I had missed out on so far.
Here’s what my favorite sapphic books of 2025 collage looks like:

I’ll type them out here for those with low vision or using screen readers:
- Without a Warning by KG MacGregor (Re-read)
- Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner (Re-read)
- The Anatomy of Forever by TB Markinson & Miranda MacLeod (New release)
- Too Close to Touch by Georgia Beers (Older book that I discovered only now)
- Discovering Nicola by Clare Ashton (New release)
- The Wilding of Em’s Path by Ana K. Wrenn (New release)
- Make Room for Love by Darcy Liao (Re-read)
- Strap In by Lou Morgan (New release)
- Learning Curve by Rachel Lacey (New release)
- The No Kiss Contract by Nan Campbell (Re-read)
- Meet Me at Midnight by Rachel Lacey (New release)
- Asking Kate by Clare Ashton (New release)
My favorite new book of 2025 was Discovering Nicola by Clare Ashton. My favorite re-read was Make Room for Love by Darcy Liao.

Of course, I’ll also organize more fun events for readers, including the Sapphic Book Bingo 2026, which has started on January 1, a big event for Give Something Away Day in July, and another Sapphic Book Advent Calendar in December.
To my readers, thank you for your support in 2025. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and love for sapphic romance motivate me every day.
Here’s to a 2026 filled with plenty of happy moments and wonderful books!
With gratitude,
Jae
