Sapphic Slow-burn romances

Doctors & veterinarians (Lesbian Book Bingo #3)

I know many of you have been waiting none too patiently for this list. Medical romance novels have been popular not just since Callie & Arizona from Grey’s Anatomy.

Maybe it’s their great bedside manner or their white coats that makes women in medical professions such a hit with readers.

To make this square of the Lesbian Book Bingo even more interesting, I’ve added a handful of veterinarians to the mix.

If you need to brush up on the rules of Lesbian Book Bingo, check out the rules post.

  1. I only am allowing myself one Radclyffe, and figured I’d use her First Responder series “Heart Stop” for this square. Though, I do have to add to my to-be-read list now.

  2. I’m going to re read Tricky Chances by Camryn Eyde (I will also have to re read book 1 also – can’t just read book 2!😀).
Love this series (and characters) and can’t wait for book 3.

  3. I will revisit All the Matters. It is a great read, and a hefty novel, so it will probably take all week, lol
If time permits, I’ll tread Fated Love as well.

  4. I love the Cops&Docs Series and the Tricky Series (can´t wait for Part 3!). I also liked the Special Delivery Series by J.A. Armstrong, Flinging it by G. Benson is really good and Love Bites by Lila Bruce has a Veterinarian as a MC in it.
I already have some books from your list on my kindle in my tbr but I really want to read Heartsick by Tracey Richardson :)

  5. I think I’m gonna give Blurred Lines a go, it sounds good! I’ve already read Heart Trouble and I want to discover more books! These all look amazing.

  6. I’m reading Special Delivery by J.A. Armstrong.

Love this game so much, my reading list keeps expanding as there are so many books to read!

  7. All that Matters is one of the rare Meagher books I haven’t read and it seems to be a favourite for many. Now’s my chance!

  8. I think I’ll be reading All That Matters. So many great choices though! It’s definitely hard to pick. I look forward to these posts though! I’ve learned about so many new authors. This is great

  9. Medical romances are my absolute favorite!! I’ve read most of the books on this list and I’d like to throw in the Rivers Community Romances by Radclyffe. 😊

  10. I have already read In a Heartbeat RJ Nolan for the bingo. but fancy reading the others mentioned particularly, The Secret of St. Claire by Robin Alexander. the rabbit on the cover intrigues me!

  11. I’m definitely going to either read LA Metro or Fated Love, oh, who am I kidding. I’ll probably read both… :)

  12. I’ll be reading Battle Scars by Meghan O’Brien for this block. It’s been a few years since I read it and have been itching to jump back in!

  13. Great selection of books here. I’ve read quite a few of them already. Adding the others to my list as I love medical romances.
If you enter me in the giveaway can you put me in the Heart Sick giveaway plz *I have audio but not ebook* as I already own Fated Love in all 3 formats.
You can leave my name out the drawing if you like.

  14. This is a great list. I love playing along with Lesbian Bingo. And these lists have introduced me to some fantastic books to add to my reading list.

  15. I read Radclyffe’s Love on Call for this square. But I have some of the books on the list for maybe my second bingo card. I have almost finished my first 5 books for the bingo card. And it is fun!

  16. I’ve read a bunch of those listed already and have the square marked off with The Winder Path by Lyn Dowland. Otherwise I’d probably read/re-read one of Ann McMan’s books from the Jericho series. Loving the Lesfic Bingo game. :)

  17. ‘All the Little Moments’ by G Benson is in my Kindle library on my ‘to read’ list. It’s now jumped to the front.

  18. I am so enjoying these lists and the bingo! Thanks again. Do books with nurses count for this square???

  19. I read The Language of Hoofbeats which isn’t a romance but is very good.

There are many great looking books I will have to check out over time.

  20. All That Matters is one that I want to read too, but I think I will start out with Tie Dye and Flannel. I’ll save All That Matter for my second card, which I have started also. Oh myyyyyy…

  21. I’ve read LA Metro & Fated Love before, both very good. I really like this category but need a Mystery/Thriller book next…both Trigger & Snowbound look like they would also fit into Mystery/Thriller. So my next book will be 1 of them.

  22. I’m still finishing up with the last post of historical fiction, but I could’nt wait to see the suggestions for this one! I already read some of them, but there are some new ones that are on my to-read list for a wile now! I will start with Trigger ad The secrets of St. Claire and probably will re-read snowbound (it was one of my first I think). And my I win a price I already own Fated love by Radclyffe so Heartsick by Tracey Richardson would be awesome!! Good readings everyone! And thanks again Jae for doing all of this! It’s great!

  23. I’ve read Fated Love and Snowbound a long time ago but I’m planning on reading Love on Call by Radclyffe since I haven’t read it before.

  24. I am reading Battle Scars by Meghan O’Brien, featuring a veterinarian and a war veteran with PTSD. I got an early start, but now I am interested in some of the books on this list for future reading.

I would add to the list:

The Language of Hoofbeats by Catherine Ryan Hyde – A veterinarian, her wife, and their foster children move to a small town next door to a disapproving neighbor. This is by the author of Pay It Forward, which was adapted into a movie.

Those Who Wait by Peggy J. Herring – Two sisters in love with the same woman. One sister is a doctor. For anyone trying to catch up on bingo, this is a fun, quick read.

  25. How exciting, I love Medical and vet romances. I read Heartsick for my choice to fill in my square. I’m plodding along slowly with my card and have quite a lot of squares to go but I’m a slow reader, even though I read around 4 hours each day it still takes me days to finish a book, sometimes longer.

  26. So many books…… I am going for a Radclyffe book, Against Doctor’s Orders. Love the lists…I’m finding at least one new author every time.

  27. I started the Origins of Heartbreak last night. Someone else mentioned the Jericho series which is also one of my favorites.

  28. I already read blurred line and the L.A. Metro series for it… And I for sure will read Trigger and Heart trouble again this year :)

  29. Jae, you should put a warning under these lists!😀
Already commented to say that I’d re read Tricky Chances and then I thought it would be rude not to look at the rest of the list and maybe download a few samples that looked interesting…… have now read La Metro by R J Nolan and currently in the middle of Trigger by Jessica L Webb🤔.

  30. Snowbound was really good. Also read “Constant Companion” by Sybilia Grogan, check it out really great story. I will read Trigger since I already bought it!

  31. Love it when doctor leading ladies’ stories have semi-in-depth or distinctive doctor/medical issues scenes so that I’m deeply immersed into the professional lives of the characters as well as their personal/love lives (almost akin to watching a medical show). Packs a wallop when it comes to my investment in doctor characters when the medical stuff is described and integrated seamlessly into the progression of the love story, or when professional stakes are tied to/influence emotional stakes.

So, I’ll aim for collecting the Rivers Community medical romance series by Radclyffe in paperback at some point. Also want to add one of Robin Alexander’s books to a square of mine because she knocks humor out the park. I mean, hypochondriac rabbits… gotta see what that’s all about. Definitely eyeing Susan X. Meagher’s, Tracey Richardson’s and Rhavensfyre’s books too.

Who am I kidding? At some point, I want to have read all the books on this list!

  32. The Secret of St. Claire by Robin Alexander sounds fun. Since I love her writing, this one will be a good start for my foray into medical stories.

  33. I read Trigger by Jessica L. Webb, loved the book and all the series telling the story of Dr. Kate Morrison and Sergeant Andy Wyles, great stories, beautiful, enthralling dynamic of the characters. Now I’d love to read among others Blurred Lines by KD Williamson, but I’m definitely interested in more titles in this list

  34. I read Origins of Heartbreak for this square. It has a med student and an EMT student. I’ve read several of the others in this list too. I do love me a medical romance so I’ll probably check most of these out at some point.!

  35. Medical romances – what a great category full of very many great books!
Who doesn’t love Docs in Love?
For this square I just finished Heartsick by Tracey Richardson, a very warm story.
I think G. Bensons All the little Moments is a very uncommon story that puts you right in the middle of the unvarnished turbulent live of Anna. A book that gives hope!
Also the LA Metro Series by RJ Nolan and Radclyffes Rivers Community Novels hit in the middle of the heart with their so different and deeply drawn characters and their big community/family full of further fantastic storys.
Everytime I read Jaes Heart Trouble I want to cook. Because of this book I tried to cook with pomegranates the first time – what an enrichment! I love cooking and enjoy trying new cooking styles from other countries – this book brought me the wonderful Persian Cuisine.
When I’m in need of good mood I like to read Falling Hard – love Jordan’s humor and the funny, witty situations in this novel. My “Feel-Good-Book” currently.
Mentioning Greys Anatomy (my wife is an addict to GA…) – One Novel on this fabulous list has every potential for such very big, grand, dramatic moments like in some special Ga’s episodes. I mean Fated Love by Radclyffe, such a heartrendingly beautiful novel that hits your inner core and brings your tears up and gives you this deep, deep, mega-rich “Oh-My-Good! – Oh-Yes!-Feeling”!
(Hope you understand my wobbly German-English ;)

  36. I read Heart Trouble for this square and I really liked it. They way they got to know each other better was truly unique and I thought it was very sweet.

  37. There are several on this list I haven’t read that sound interesting. But I think I’ll be revisiting D. Jackson Leigh Long Shot for this square on my first card. I’m keeping all these lists for future read recommendations. Thanks again Jae, really enjoying this.

  38. So many good choices. I just (re)read all three books in RJ Nolan’s LA Metro series. For a first-time read, I have G. Benson’s All the Little Moments next on my list.

  39. Like many I have read and loved fated love when it first came out. I remember emailing the author to tell her and she replied she was glad as she’d worried about the book cos nothing happened in it. Was one of my faves for a long time. Read most on this list but there are always good suggestions I missed!

  40. I’ve read Rad’s Fated Love a dozen times (it’s my fave of hers) so I would read Tracey Richardson’s Heartsick for the bingo square since I enjoy her books and I haven’t read this one yet (waiting on payday to purchase but if I can get it free bonus lol )

  41. I read Prescription for Love by Radclyffe. There are just so many great books to choose from. Thanks for the list.

  42. Thanks for the list! I haven’t read any of these yet so first I think I’m going to check out Snowbound by Cari Hunter.

  43. Love this list. I didn’t realize how much I enjoy this category until I saw just how many of the books I’d read and thought of as favorites. I used Ann McMan’s “Aftermath” to fill in the D&V square on my Bingo card.
