Character with a different sexual orientation or gender identity (Sapphic Book Bingo #21)

For this week’s Sapphic Book Bingo category, read a sapphic book featuring a main character whose sexual orientation or gender identity differs from your own. For example, if you are cis, pick a book about a trans, intersex, or nonbinary character. If you are a lesbian, pick a book about a bisexual, pansexual, or asexual character, etc.

This week’s post is one of the longest I’ve put together for the Sapphic Book Bingo because I wanted to include recommended reading lists for all of the identities within the LGBTQIA+ community. I hope you find it helpful–not just for the reading challenge, but also to read more diversely and to find a few new favorite books!

  1. Jae this is a fabulous group of lists you have made. Thank you for everything. I imagine you working over a hot computer with steam coming out of your ears! Lol. Don’t forget to eat, sleep and do things purely for fun. If I could I’d send you a lifetime supply of your favorite ice cream, and the Cadillac of fountain pens with your favorite, it looks like you just murdered someone red ink.

  2. You have a wonderful way of guiding me into areas where I didn’t even realize I hadn’t been! There are 2 lists here where I didn’t recognize one author. Definitely time to go there!
